CBO's Top Prospects

Analyzing the Top 5 NOT on CBO Opening Day Rosters

1. RF Orcin Cardinal, Poseidon Energy Mongrels (GBRL, Finch Farm) - The #1 overall pick in the 2300 Rookie Draft, Cardinal is expected to be a can-miss prospect to propel the Four Leafs in the future. He has all the tools with his bat to hit for average and power. While he will not flash the top glove, he could throw out his share of runners from RF. He will be a force in his first season in the GBRL.

8. SS Rabbit Forest, Medford Medics (GBRL, Atom) - The Cats' 1st-round pick (3rd overall) in the 2299 Rookie Draft, Forest is still working on his game. Coaches have seen the change, as well as the OSA scouts, expecting Forest to develop exponentially in the GBRL. Forest's future in the CBO is expected to be as a well-rounded batter with an outstanding glove.

9. 3B Donn Mattingley, Big John (GBRL, Roxbury) - Before being traded to the Rad Sox in a blockbuster that brought Beachboy Nut to Nordhagen Beach, Mattingley was expected to be next in line to play 3B for the Party Boys. A heavy-hitting 3B, he did not find his power with Greentop Nursery of the BMU last season but should benefit in developing his swing in the GBRL.

11. SP Whokill Poole, Big John Salvagers (GBRL, Roxbury) - Poole is not entering his 5th season in the Roxbury organization, making some question if he will ever make that leap. This season, the Rad Sox are planning to start Poole in the GBRL to see if he can work more on developing his tools, specifically on his control. He has steadily gotten better each season as an undrafted free agent, but he has not quite been able to surpass some of the other talented pitchers in the Roxbury organization.

12. LF Stu Gains, Boston Common Lead Bellies (BMU, University Point) - Gains is an interesting pick to be the 12th overall prospect in the CBO. Taken in the 4th round of the 2300 Rookie Draft, Gains was efficient for the Boston Common Baby Bellies. He is still in Boston Common to start the 2301 season, this time with the Lead Bellies, but it would probably serve him better to play in the GBRL. With that stated, the Deathclaws have noticed Gains' work ethic and consider him to be a major steal. He can punish bad pitches, and the Claws want to see if he can do that over and over in the minors.
