Nobody can predict who will win a title any given year, let alone several seasons down the road. Things can change a lot from year to year. And nobody knows what the scores of the games will be. Will one of the teams score more than nine runs in a game? Perhaps, perhaps not. Does it matter? I remember one game where Texas beat Baltimore 30-3. And there was a Cubs-Phillies game in the 70s, I believe, that was 23-22. Even in the playoffs the oddball score will happen. In Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS the Yankees beat the Red Sox 19-8. And in Game 4 of the 1993 World Series the Blue Jays beat the Phillies 15-14.

If the scores were more ‘average’ but the same teams won, it would result in the same outcome in the standings or series, and that’s the only thing anyone really remembers in the long run.
