LeGrant Scott
Outfielder LeGrant Scott lettered in baseball at the University of Alabama in 1933 and 1934 and was signed by the Birmingham Barons of the Southern Association at the end of the school year in '34. He would spend the next five seasons (1934-1938) with the Barons, hitting over the .300 mark in three of the five years, before being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1938 Rule V Draft. Scott would spend his only season in the major leagues with the Phillies, making his debut on April 19, 1939 and appearing in 76 games and hitting at a .280 clip before being sent down to the Indianapolis Indians of the American Association, where he finished out the remainder of the year. His minor league career shows he appeared in 1,175 games, hit at a .313 average with 66 home runs.
