BOLAND, RUSTLERS TOGETHER 3 MORE YEARS
A throng of media gathered as Tim Boland announced that he had come to terms with the Austin Rustlers and he would be sticking around another 3 years. Boland is set to draw 18 million in pay over that time.
This year Boland has made 60 appearances with 2 Saves. In 66.1 IP he has permitted 40 hits, fanned 66, and has a record of 6-2 1.90.
“Tim is exactly the type of person, and player, the Rustlers want. He is 'all-in' and as prepared as anyone and has enormous flexibility at the back end of our bullpen. Along with Nate, we feel we have two of the best LH short men in the game.” GM Curt Schilling said.
BACKROOM CHATTER
He is 27 and has a lockdown arm. Nate Scott has blown 8 saves. Yes, he's had a great year but that can't happen (and Saves are one of the most misconstrued stats in all of baseball). In many games it feels like we are winning despite our closer and Ricky Sanford has come to me about making some changes.
