In the past, I've never used the pre 1901 players in my random debuts, as the game used to produce some pretty wonky numbers, especially in regards to pitchers. Seeing Toad Ramsey strike out 450+ batters in a season wasn't my cup of tea. Glad to see some adjustments must have been made over the years and I'm enjoying having the pre 1901 guys in this league.
