If you're using a Basic setup, that's not possible, no. You'd be better off creating custom leagues and imputing the teams manually to do that.
As for Colorado, I don't know for sure but my guess would be they would have been sent to a Reserve list. (Which acts like a farm team although no games/stats are accrued)
