History: Like most communities in the early 20th Century, Galveston, Texas had a thriving local baseball scene, with teams being sponsored by local businesses. The local City League used a diamond known as “the little cigar box”. We also love that the club wore the crosshatch pinstripe uniforms, which we have only seen on a few teams from this time (the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Chicago American Giants being the better-known clubs).
