June 14-15, 2039: at Toronto (2)
Game 1: The Rays were listless in a 6-1 loss to Toronto at Rogers Centre. The bats were held to 5 hits with only Daniel Malone showing up as he reached all 4 times on 2 hits and 2 walks. Nate Thompson didn't give up a hit through 3, but fell apart in the middle innings finishing 4.2 6 5 5 3 3.
Game 2: Tampa Bay snapped back with a 7-2 win over the Jays thanks to a 5-hit performance from Daniel Vasquez. The first sacker was 5-5 and had the game's biggest hit, an RBI triple in the 7th which broke a 2-2 tie. That triple was followed by back-to-back homers from Pat Moyer (#5) and Danny Ayala (#15, his first in a month) to break the game open. Jon Harbour started and went 5 7 2 2 3 4 with Vinny Willard contributing three scoreless innings for his 2nd win. Willard did particularly well getting out of the jam Harbour left him with men on 2nd and 3rd and nobody out in the 6th without allowing a run.
Team record: 48-20. Next up: 4 games in Detroit.
