Hey Modders!

I'm building these for my universe, and thought they may be valuable to some of you.

It's rather a minor point, perhaps, but to get player hometowns to be plausible for historic leagues, historic population data needs to be added to the world_default.txt files. So, I've started a project.

At first, the files will only update the nation and state populations for the U.S. and Canada only. As I expand, I *may* update city information, and will replace the files below with newer versions. UPDATE: I've started this with the 1850 US File. When complete, I will update the file.

Because of the size of the world_default.txt file, what's below are files for the US and Canada nations ONLY (all other nations are removed). If you wish to keep all other nations in the file, you'll need simply to cut and paste the data from these files into the larger world_default.txt file. Keep in mind, however, that all of the other nations and cities will not have era accurate data.

If you are intending on only having a US league with no international expansion, you can use the US file as your world_default.txt file. Your choice.

Note that order of the states has been rearranged based on the datasource I was using, which was by region (New England, MidAtlantic, etc.). This should have no impact on your game.

There is additional information about the structure and data of each file on the page where the files are located.

If anyone really likes this project and wants to help by updating city data (not a small effort), let me know!
