Spending $250 right now honestly wouldn't get you very far. It's very late in the game cycle and that will only buy a few impact cards, and plus we have a MAJOR end-game set coming out next week that is likely to displace anything you buy today. If you want to support the devs that's great, but I don't think it would be particularly smart in terms of optimal gameplay.

The comment about not judging the quality of cards solely by the overall rating is very important. Many cards rated 100 are completely unplayable trash, and simply filling a team full of 100 cards is no guarantee of anything. You want to try to understand the individual ratings like contact, power, etc. and how they interact with each other, and also how to combine cards with park factors to create synergies that give you an advantage. Once you get a sense for that stuff THEN you can spend money a lot more effectively in a way that won't leave you frustrated with poor performance per dollar spent. There are also tons of cards where the value is inflated due to being included in a mission, but the card itself is still bad. So if you just go buy whatever 100 cards you can afford, without understanding the ratings or prices of cards, I pretty much guarantee you will be disappointed.

So I would recommend immersing/educating yourself a bit first and then if you still want to, spend some money and it will be a lot more effective that way.

And yeah the discord is a good way to speed up that process, you can get a lot of good info there too.
