Don't base a card's value on the number on the front. There are way too many 100 cards that are useless in regular play above silver or gold level.

You're in a great position now to learn how PT works. You may want to talk to some of the F2P groups to see if you may be a fit with them. You can really learn about the inner workings of the game, and which cards are better than others (and why). Soak up that knowledge now, and you'll be set for next season's game.

If you do still want to spend money, you'll be better off doing that next season. Try to learn enough this year to help you make a decision on how much you want to spend, and more importantly, on how to spend the PP you get for it.
