My Larry Bowa was waived by Philly (as usual) in spring training 1971 & picked up by Atlanta. The Braves kept him in AAA all season while in the Launching Pad Sonny Jackson stumbled & bumbled his way to 32 E's, .948 FA, 4.31 RF, negative 5.3 ZR, .980 EFF. His usual performance.
IRL in 1971, Bowa .249/.293/.292, 11 E's, .987 FA, 5.31 RF, 97 DP.
IRL in 1971, Jackson .258/.302/.324, but played CF.
It seems the AI always goes with offense over defense, but Jackson's O is only marginally better than Bowa's. While Bowa's D at a critical position would be far more valuable to the team.
As ST 1972 winds down, Bowa is the starter, but Jackson remains on the roster.....
