Pick a target date (see highlighted portion of image below) and sim to your heart's delight.
I'm more of a slow-mover who likes to play my games out but I have run test leagues where I regularly sim about a decade at a time. So unless something has changed since I last did this (and I'm pretty sure that isn't the case) you can definitely sim more than a year at a time.
