July 26, 1974 Willie Stargell drill 3 home runs in a game against the Montreal Expos. The Pirates won the game 10-4, Stargell drove in 9 of those 10 runs. Willie is hitting .261 with 18 home runs and 71 RBI for the NL East leading Pirates. Pittsburgh is 61-37, which has them 17 games up. The rest of the NL East is once again under .500.

The NL West is a little bit closer, but not by much. The Reds are 68-33, putting them 10 games ahead of the second place Houston Astros.

The AL East is really close at this time Boston(56-43) holds a 1 1/2 game lead over the Baltimore Orioles(55-45). Cleveland is 4 1/2 games back, 52-48.

Oakland is 2 1/2 games up on the Minnesota Twins in the AL West. Oakland is currently 58-40. Both divisions in the AL have been back and forth affairs so far this season, which is a good things seeing how awful the races in the NL have been.
