George Perring

"A hard hitter and classy fielder, George Perring was a product of the prairie school of baseball, developing his sure shot to first base by throwing green crabapples through the knothole in a barn door." - from the Beloit College website

George Perring was in the major leagues from 1908-10 with the Cleveland Naps, then played for Columbus from 1910-13 and came back to the majors with the Kansas City Packers of the Federal League in 1914-15. He was still playing professionally as late as 1919. - bRef Bullpen wiki
