122 of 162: Jon Duplantier (9-3, 2.63) @ Kohei Arihara (6-11, 7.53)
Win, 15-13. In what can only be described as a raucous run-scoring melee of mythic proportions, we’d escape with a win in extras by the skin of our teeth. The game featured 7 dingers, 2 of which were ours – including the game-winner from Dylan Moore during the top of the 10th – and saw us reach TWENTY hits on the day in what has to be a regular-season record for our club (it is – previous record, according to the internet, is 15 from waaay back in 1991 against the Brewers). Trammell – 3 for 6, 4 RBI – and K-Lew – 4 for 5, 2 RBI – were clutch cargo, the club secured 3 doubles and a triple to go along with our two jacks, Fletcher swiped a bag, and the offense, a recently awakened giant, managed to get it done for us here even though the Inspector could only muster 3-innings of work and the rest of the pen didn’t far much better… we used them all, folks, 8 arms made that walk today.
Elsewhere: There is no elsewhere when our game featured a total of 31 hits, 28 runs, and 7 TRUCKS… so, let’s highlight one of the bad guys, Khris Davis, who went 2 for 4 with 2 DINGERS, 6 RIBLETS, 3 RUNS, and a FREE PASS, to lead his club to extras, while our own David Fletcher put it down something fierce with a 4 for 6 day that included a two-bagger, a jack, 5 RBI, and 4 runs. Good times.
Record: 84-38, .688, 1st AL West
Up Next: We continue our jaunt through the Lonestar State with a trip to Houston where we hope this very recent run of tip-top offensive form continues…
