Another No-hitter has been thrown this time it was Billings Beacons rookie Al Pratt as Billings defeated the Aruba Jackrabbits at home 5-0. Pratt fanned 10 and walked 3 in the game This was the fifth no hitter thrown in 2026 but first in Billings Beacons history. Aruba now has been no hit on 3 occasions. In 2024, Don Drysdale of the Arizona Diamondbacks held them in check and later that year, Joey Hamilton of the Orlando Alliance actually had a perfect game against them. Kurt Stillwell hit his 4th homer of the year and drove in 3 runs to account for most of Billings' offense.
The fists came out today in a game where the Caracas Toros defeated the Vermont Black Bears 5-4 at home. Chris Redd too exception to a pitch thrown by Mike Wegener and all hell broke loos. The SNL cast member got a 4 game suspension while Wegener got 6 games. Caracas improved to 33-20 in 2026 as Jim Greengrass hit a 2 run shot, his 9th of the year and Johnny Allen pitched 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball and struck out 11 batters.
Frank Chance of the Evansville Steelhawks has decided to retire at the end of the year at 38 years old. Chance had 246 homers most of which were hit with the Atlanta Braves including a 145 RBI season in 2021. Chance only had 4 homers so far this year and the power seems to be gone.
