Finished up my annual season early this year. I play each game out in action pitch mode, 162 game schedule.
I didn't win the World Series the first year I played (14 years ago) and had won it ever since. I lost in the first round this year to the damn wild card team and it felt. . . bad.
Anyhow, as I was playing out my games this year, I not only kept track of the results after mound visits (separate thread on that) but also kept notes as to what I'd like to see added for next year's version. Here they are:
~ Trade A.I. should be impacted by the team's status (rebuilding, win now, etc.) with rebuilding teams trying to jettison vets and win nows trying to acquire them. The one-size-fits-all A.I. really doesn't cut it.
~ Option to see detailed current year batting/pitching stats for player with their current team only. It's in the splits, sure, but I'd like to see an option in the tab that has the detailed stats for the current year. Helpful to see how players have done after in-season trades.
~ Stop having the runners in the graphics give the result of the play away. For example, deep fly that looks like it might be a homer but too early to tell. Runners hold - it will be caught. They run - it'll be a homer. On hit-and-runs, they do a Flair Flop as soon as the ball leaves the bat, is in the air and will be caught.
~Add BENCH PLAYER option to player's individual drop-down menu. Too much clicking to get to now.
~When playing out or observing an individual game, we have an option to set all in-game decisions to HUMAN CONTROL. How about an option to set to COMPUTER AI all at once, too?
~ Running tally of Player of the Game awards. I know it's a fairly meaningless stat but it's another stat to track and this is baseball, damnit! Seriously, I think it would have a bit of meaning in that it would show which players tended to excel more on a daily basis.
~When hovering over an at-bat player's name on the game field, have the SPRAY CHART pop up.
As it is now, you have to leave the field of play to view it.
