A real key point about minor league sim speed (and game speed in general) is the amount of players teams have in the minors. Since this is a pet peeve issue with me I make sure all clubs full rosters are under 100 players - ideally closer to around 85 players or less. The difference in sim speed is tremendous when the minor league rosters are not overflowing with scrub players.

Limiting the minor league roster sizes also allows you to avoid most of the games crash/freeze issues some users have experienced.
