2 fights from London
Tony Bellew wanted to keep sharp so he made a summer return hardly working up a sweat as he dispatched Ben Askren with an uppercut @ 2:32 of the 1st.
It was Tony's 5th defense of his WBC CW title & is now 14-0, all KO's @ CW. (This makes the 3rd time in 5 title defenses that Tony ended the fight with an uppercut).
The fight most came to see however was Conor Benn fighting for the British WW title against the champ - Joe Laws.
Joe obnoxiously sang & danced his way into the ring to "Breaking the Law" once again. He should have saved his energy as Conor dropped him in the 1st with a hook & then 8 more times over 12 rounds finally ending the fight @ 2:46 of the 12th with a rib shot.
The cards reflected Conor's dominating performance: 109-93, 107-94 & 108-94.
At least Joe kept getting up in this fight, when he tried for the WBA strap earlier this year, he was starched in the 2nd by Nick Flaz.
