It would have blown my mind if my college town had actually been where Mays was from and there was no statue or anything like that but uh... no. Mays is from Westfield, Alabama.
Yes, this is a known (and long-standing issue with the historical db and towns with the same name in different states. One of these days we'll sort it out, but it's more complicated than you'd think.
