Walkers news: May 18 -- Cincinnati 11, St. Louis 6

Record: 23-19, 4th, 5 GB Cedar Rapids
Trailing 5-4, Cedar Rapids got back-to-back home runs -- from Hector Lucero and pinch-hitter Anthony Ward -- to begin the top of the seventh inning and the Grapplers kept on adding on en route to an 11-6 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (2006).
Lucero's homer came off River Walkers starting pitcher Jim Martin.
Nick Ruffalo then replaced Martin only to have Ward crush his first pitch 388 feet over the wall in right field as the River Sharks took the lead for good.
Much earlier, Cincinnati had jumped on Martin for four runs in the top of the first.
Shaun Young drove in the game's first two runs with a single.
Onoferdo Hernandez followed that with a two-run homer.
The Walkers, however, climbed into the lead with two runs in the third -- Freudis Nova with a two-run double -- and three in the fifth -- Jared Thomas with an RBI single and Daniel Becerra driving in a pair with a single -- to go up 5-4.
Darling allowed all of the St. Louis runs.
After their big top of the seventh, the Sharks continued to add on.
Jake McCarthy had an RBI double off Ruffalo in the eighth.
Robert Perez did most of the damage in the ninth with a grand slam off Josh Forgy.
Darling lasted 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits.
Four relievers -- Justin O'Rourke (1.1 IP), Brian Stewart (1.0), Nick Ferretti (0.2) and Sean Williams (1.1) -- combined to finish the game.
O'Rourke (2-1) got the win.
Williams notched his ninth save.
