Results: A pretty close series overall, with the 1916 Red Sox winning by 8 games 86-74.The Red Sox got to an early 8 game lead in may, before the Giants managed to tie the season in June, but from there the Red Sox pretty much took over. Babe Ruth lead the Red Sox pitching staff with a 21-14 record and a 3.08 ERA, while 7 of the 8 Red Sox hitters had a .300 or better average, led by Larry Gardner, who nearly hit .400 with a .396 average. Willy Mays hit .370 with 27 HRs for the losing Giants.

Results: Surprisingly, the '02 Angels were able to keep it close for most of the way, even tying the season in mid September, before the '75 Reds went on a 9 game winning streak late in the season to clinch and win the season 85-75. Don Gullet lead the Reds pitching staff with a 16-12 record and 3.17 ERA. The Reds offense did not do as well as expected, with only Ken Griffey hitting over .300 at .301. Jarrod Washburn and Kevin Appier each had ERA's under 3.10 for the Angels, while Adam Kennedy hit .332 and Garret Ancerson hit .296 with 29 HRs in the loss.

Lou Gherig hit .377/44 HR and Babe Ruth hit .342/41 HR, while George Pipgras went 22-7 with a 3.08 ERA and Waite Hoyte went 18-10 with a 3.68 ERA. Dick McAullife and Willie Horton both hit over .300 for the '68 Tigers in the loss.
