A Game #5 For The Ages.....
The Keystone Kops turned the tables on the Shinbone Stars and won the AC sub-series 4 games to 1 with a game 5 that was one for the ages!
The Kops started out very strong and won the first 3 games of the series, including the first two, which were played at Stars BallPark.
With Shinbone winning game 4, Keystone nation started getting restless wondering if the wheels were going to fall off the wagon.
Game 5 was played at The Rock and Shinbone had the Keystones on the ropes for most of the game however, they could not find a way to finish off the Kops.
Going into the Bottom of the 7th Shinbone was winning 7-1 and the Kops scored 3 to make it 7-4 at the end of 7.
Top of the 9th Shinbone adds an insurance run to make it 8-4 going into the Bottom of the 9th.
With bases loaded, Keystone's Hack Wilson hits a Grand Slam to tie it up at the end of 9, 8-8!
In the Bottom of the 16th inning Keystone's Carlos Gonzalez, who was having a horrible series batting an ugly .077 AVG managed to hit a solo Home Run to allow the Keystone Kops to win the AC Pennant, 9-8!
Boy, what a game!
Keystone will advance to the I172 Series Championship where they will face the NC Pennant winners, the Steel City Buccos, a non OL team.
