Yes... there is usually one pitcher that starts most games... but the other two pitchers are also starters and will used in relief... and if the #1 starter flounders and flops, then one of the others will get a shot... I manage all teams in the commissioner mode... and I will play out each game entirely... in the past I would play from the 6th inning on so I could make the pitching changes and substitutions... I have never liked the way the AI substitutes players... it double switches too much for me... it plays modern-day baseball and not 1950s style that I prefer with limited use of pitchers, pinchhitters and defensive changes.
It's a three-man staff.... with 13 position players... 16-man rosters... 10-man reserve rosters... I edit all players so they can play other positions... even the pitchers can play a some other position other than pitcher.
That how recreation ball is... players have to be adaptable and play more than one position because of the small rosters... in all my experience in church league and rec league softball, everyone has to play at least half of the game, otherwise they won't come to a game... to have enough players show up on a regular basis, they have to play most of the game... some players are happy to play half a game.
