New York showed its mortality this month, going just 15-14. Washington cashed in, going 17-11 and gaining 2.5 games in the standings. Cleveland went 16-12 to gain 1.5 games of their own.
Pittsburgh went 17-9 in June to take over first place, as the Cubs went just 12-14, falling 3 games behind. Meanwhile, Cincinnati moved into 2nd Place by going 16-11 on the month.

NL - "Butterball" Klehammer, C, New York Giants - He hit .358 with 9 RBI, 14 runs scored and 2 homers.

John Falise, RF, Philadelphia (N) - Pops hit .353 with 5 RBI, 3 runs scored and 2 homers in just 17 at-bats until he pulled his achilles tendon on June 13th. He is still fit enough to play, but the team felt it was better to put him on the shelf as a precaution. He missed the rest of June and could miss most of July as well.
Jean-Francois Arsenault, SS, Chicago (A) - Flaky hit .250 with 10 RBI and 7 runs scored.
Genaro Nunez, 2B, Chicago (A) - Tito hit .238 (5 for 21) with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored.
