I usually pick a closer with high stuff, currently just installed Aroldis Chapman (stuff 177) and pair him with a defensive replacement catcher with high catcher ability (Cleveland backstops Perez and Hedges = 100 catcher ability). Then, I pick my worst starter to be long relief (with the setting 'avoid high leverage'). Everyone else is middle relief and let the AI pick and choose during the game. I don't really understand the different roles and truly think they are just for "realism" and make no difference. Usually a minimum of 7 bullpen arms unless you have time to micro and have depth to swap out gassed arms, then you can go with fewer. I think it is very helpful to have reserve depth to keep the bullpen fully rested. For tournaments with no rest days, I use 8 bullpen guys.

As far as Chapman goes or any high stuff guy set the slider to never pitch around.
