Snipers Get Bush-Hammered, Drop Game 3 to Raybathers
The Mystic Pines Raybathers moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the Trinity Plaza Snipers on the road at Memory Den Field by a score of 12-6. Raybathers first baseman Harry Bush was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win gives the Raybathers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Boston Minor Series.
Mystic Pines relied on the hitting of Ben Couto to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Raybathers on top, 6-1. For the game, Couto had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I like our moxie," said Raybathers manager Justin Chops.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Memory Den Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Alex Alexson for Mystic Pines and Thorn McCormick for Trinity Plaza.
