Harry Stovey had a game for the ages today as the Brooklyn Brawlers demolished the Scranton Owls by the score of 28-6. Stovey slammed 4 homers in the game for Brooklyn and drove in nine runs as he devastated Scranton pitching. Roberto Kelly also had 5 hits in the game for Brooklyn. Brooklyn starting pitcher George Mullin got injured early in the game and it took 7 relievers to win by 22 runs. Brooklyn is 8-4 in the NL East just one game behind the New York Mets

Braggo Roth of the Fresno Bashers earned the honors in the National League with 9 homers and 20 RBIs with a .455 batting average. Fresno is in first in the AL Pacific with 2 game leads over the Anchorage Bears and Oakland Athletics.
Taking the award in the National League was Fred Merkle of the Albuquerque Blackbirds. Merkle already in the 300 homer club hit 4 homers drove in 10 runs and batted a sparkling .520 for the week. Albuquerque is in 3rd place tie in the NL West, two games behind the surprising Austin Donkeys.
