The Big Train Walter Johnson had a superb 15 strikeout outing today as the Fresno Bashers held on to beat the Raleigh Spitfires 10-7. Johnson only allowed 2 hits in 7 2/3 innings as Braggo Roth hit s 2 homers giving him 10 on the young season. Heinie Reitz added 3 hits as well. Fresno is off to an amazing start with 10-1 record in the AL Pacific and early 3 game lead over Anchorage Bears, Oakland Athletics and the Tokyo Alligators.
Herman Long, the long time shortstop of the New York Yankees is now with the Tucson Tomahawks and has decided to retire at the end of the season at 38 years old. Long has hit 152 career homers in the 7 seasons he has been in the league.
Tijuana Pelicans were the last team to lose a game as they lost a 12-3 game to the Las Vegas Snake Eyes. Joe Nolan punished Tijuana with 5 RBI's while dance floor attraction Tony Manero got his first win of the 2025 campaign.
