In the top of the first, Guillen put the Angels on the board with a sacrifice fly.
In the top of the third, Guerrero got a two-out RBI single.
In the bottom of the third, Matthews brought home a run with a single.

In the top of the fourth, Glaus hit a two-run homer 357 feet. An RBI single by Quinlan made it 5-1 Angels. The Angels then loaded the bases with one out. DaVanon walked on four pitches to bring home another run. With the bases still loaded with one out, Jeff Nelson took the mound for the Rangers and got Guerrero to ground into the 5-4-3 to retire the side.
In the bottom of the sixth, Soriano got an RBI with a sacrifice fly. Teixeira hit a two-run blast 442 feet to get the Rangers back in the game.
After six: Anaheim 6 Texas 4.
In the top of the seventh, Ron Mahay took the mound for the Rangers.
In the top of the eighth, with a runner on first and two out, Doug Brocail took the mound for the Rangers and got out of the inning without the runner scoring.
In the top of the ninth, a two-out RBI single by Guillen made it a three-run lead.
In the bottom of the ninth, Francisco Rodriguez took the mound for the Angels and took care of the Rangers to end the game.
The Angels got 13 hits in the win.
Final score: Anaheim 7 Texas 4.
