We’ve arrived at our
last chance for a slow dance here in Houston – would be nice to get the split and head off to the airport for our ~5-hour flight on a good note.
26 of 162: Marco Gonzales (2-2, 4.15) @ Zack Greinke (1-2, 3.82)
Win, 7-1. I think that this one could be summed up thusly – we charged four bad ones to
Zack Greinke’s account today and he wasn’t even telling us what pitches he was going to throw. In total, we got homers from
Dalbec and
K-Lew, and
THREE MORE from
Joc – that’s 5 in total if you’re counting. We’d round things out with a swiped bag from
Wong, 2 double plays (including a sweet yo-yo DP from
Murphy-Wong), and
Logan Gilbert’s debut – he gave us 1.1 innings of work, allowing only a single hit while walking one and fanning 3. A split against the team we love to hate the most, in their house?
Sign me up.
Elsewhere: Well, not elsewhere really – instead, I’ll just leave this right here…
Record: 19-7
Up Next: We’re meeting
Mike Trout in the playground at 5 to duke it out – or something like that. I also plan on pestering
Perry Minasian until he finally relents and agrees to send Rendon over to my club for a couple of prospects and a half rack of Rainier Beer. Also known as –
Longmire’s favorite beer.
