Seattle Mariners (6-3, .667, 2nd AL West) @ Baltimore Orioles (5-4, .556, 3rd AL East)
Baltimore is operating on the lowest of expectations this year – to most of the punditry, they are either the absolute worst or second-worst club in the Majors… So far, in operating a scant 1 ½ games off the pace, and with an American League leading .280 batting average, the Orioles offense has shown some proof of life. Maybe Russell Crowe is on the way, ready and willing to rescue them from the baseball purgatory they’ve been mired in for what seems like forever – or, maybe not. Maybe, and this applies to our form as well, it’s just too early to make any kind of determination – we don’t have enough information, the sample size is too small, and all that.

Power rankings are out…
1. Cleveland Indians
2. Oakland Athletics
3. Toronto Blue Jays
4. Atlanta Braves
5. Seattle Mariners (Who? What?)

Mets are 11th, Dodgers 16th, Yankees 25th.

Elsewhere: LF Eloy Jimenez (CWS) & 3B Carter Kieboom (STL) won PoTW for their respective leagues…

10 of 162: Josh Lindblom (0-0, 1.80) @ Jorge Lopez (1-0, 7.71)
Win, 8-3
. Here we sauntered into town, cocksure, ready to do some damage, and doing the Brutus as we strolled around the visitors’ clubhouse – and we’d apply that confidence on the field of play in what amounted to nothing less than an 8-3 shellackingDalbec drove a couple in, Hedges smashed a 3-run ding dong and now has 18 total RBI on the year, and Joc hit his 2nd double of the year – still hitting an anemic .162, tho… 3 doubles, two homers, a SAC BUNT from Ty, two burgled bags, and a couple of double plays for the good guys. All systems go.

Elsewhere: Milwaukee’s Travis Shaw finished 2 for 3, with TWO DING DONGS (BTW - his nickname, in the game (and maybe real life?) is listed as 'Mayor of Ding Dong City' and I desperately need to find out if that is for real and why). SIX RBI, and 3 runs during the Brew Crew’s solid 10-4 win over the Chicago Cubs… with the win the Wisconsin based ballclub have clawed their way back to .500 and have exacted a small measure of revenge against their division rival here as they are now even against them (2-2) on the year.

Edit: Mystery Solved!

Record: 7-3
Up Next: We'll try to get at some blue crab tonight and then play some more baseball against the Orioles tomorrow...
