After I downloaded the patch, I completed a season (1955), and while the post-season awards showed up in the calendar, they were never actually announced (except Manager of the Year).
I checked to see if perhaps they were awarded but just not announced as a news story, but after checking all the obvious pitching and hitting candidates (who likely would have won), it's clear no one was awarded the major honors.
