There's nothing wrong with the patch. A patch would never cause a corrupt save game. That's simply not possible.
If you do have a corrupt file, it's likely only coincidence even if you downloaded the patch recently.
One thing that could be more than coincidence, is if a new patch triggers an anti-virus or anti-malware program to scan the OOTP data folder, and it returns a false positive. So definitely make sure to whitelist/exclude OOTP and its data folders from any such programs as mentioned in the linked post on some reasons for corruption which are worth checking over.
