7/15 - Players of the Week
The players of the week were announced today
Gregg Jefferies of the defending world champion Utah Saints got the award this week hitting 5 homers and driving in 14 runs while going 13 for 29 for Utah who have won 12 straight games and are tied with the Houston Astros atop the AL West. Jefferies is in his 2nd year with the Saints and signed the big offseason deal.
The Honolulu Riptides found out their breakout star outfielder Lee Walls walked away with top honors this week with 9 homers 18 RBI's and a .531 average. Walls has 44 homers this season for Honolulu who have caught fire and have won 6 games in a row. Honolulu is in 4th place in the NL Pacific behind 6 games to the division leading Sacramento Bees.
