Elsewhere I've read that the AI is making too many good young players available for the Rule 5 draft while protecting journeymen.
This runs entirely counter to that.
(It really has to be tough being the developers sometimes....most of the time? All of the time?)
Same, the last three rule 5 drafts I've been through have been nothing worth noting, especially once you get to the middle of the order.

I see an occasional pick here or there, and I take a flier or someone that might be on the cusp of average to see if he could help but no obvious "wow I need to get him" guys.

My experience has been much closer to the OP's.

In 21, I probably would have agreed that the AI is being too risky in exposing useful young players to the draft. So far for me, 22 has been much different.
