Our first afternoon game today - we’ll head out to SeaTac as soon as this one is over to fly the friendly skies to Minneapolis for a 3-game set against the Twins that the schedule maker decided to stretch out across 4 days… listen, that extra day of per diem isn’t going to break the bank or anything, but what am I supposed to do in Minneapolis on a day off?
Sample a Tater Tot Hotdish? Curds? Both?
6 of 162: Reynaldo Lopez (0-0, 0.00) @ Marco Gonzales (1-0, 1.12)
Win, 4-3. Another day, another barnburner – after Chicago put a couple of bad ones on us in the top of the 1st we were unable to get anything of our own going until late. Down 3 in the bottom of the 7th, we’d finally punch our first through on a run-scoring single from
Kyle Lewis that brought
Ty France home and we’d follow that up during the bottom of the 8th with 3 more to get out in front and stay there. A solo shot from
Joc, a run-scoring triple from
Ty, and a run-scoring single, with two outs and runners on the corners from
David Fletcher, would, ultimately, seal the deal and send us off on our first road trip in glorious fashion.
Elsewhere: Orlando Arcia, doing his level best to reverse Milwaukee’s early-season misfortunes, went 4 for 4 with a dinger, 2 RBI, and 3 runs in a losing effort for the Brewers as they fell by a score of 6-7 against the Cubs. Oof.
Record: 4-2
Up Next: Off to the land of Ole and Lena jokes to play 3 games over the next 4 days.
