I tried out a fantasy draft and Josh Donaldson went ahead of Wander Franco. Nelson Cruz ahead of Jarred Kelenic. Justin Verlander ahead of MacKenzie Gore.

What's most frustrating about this is how the AI correctly values these players against each other in trades. Plus you can adjust how much the league favors prospects.

I suppose in an empty league where financial aren't yet determined the AI just tries to assemble the best team possible for the inaugural season.
