I don't even agree with the premise of the rule - that games are too long. I love extra inning games. For one thing, more baseball for the price (huge) of my ticket. And, by definition, the most exciting kind of baseball. Using artificial, contrived, simplistic rules borrowed from tee ball is pathetic. Let the teams play as long as it takes in the way they have for a hundred and fifty years now. It has been described as a "COVID Rule", which makes no sense whatsoever; but maybe an excuse to quietly abandon it, when/ir the virus is contained?
