Baseball needs to evolve. If your sport’s regular season “overtime” is boring, you have a problem. A runner on 2nd adds a much needed sense of urgency. Both teams get an opportunity to win the game and I don’t care that the home team has a strategic advantage. It adds actual interesting strategy (without having to watch pitchers try to hit

) and can even have an influence on roster construction (increases value of pinch hitters & runners and lessens the need for reliever roster churn).
