Analysis

While the Bottom 5 remained exactly the same, there is a new #1 in this week's Power Rankings.

Though they are still #4 in the standings for league leaders, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud used a 5-0 week to boost themselves to #1 in the CBO's BNN Power Rankings. The Shroud didn't quite face the NCA's toughest foes, popping Easy Town (#23) in two and Concord (#19) in the weekend three. It most certainly helps to have the likely Vim! Pitcher Award winner in Mike Cartrette (15-3, 2.02), who may be on his way to a historical season. If he were not the favorite for the Vim!, Starters 2-4, Derek Green (12-4, 3.20), Brent Hooker (11-4, 3.95), and Matt Hope (11-4, 3.87), would be in consideration. Fort Hagen's four starters rank 1st, tied for 3rd, and tied for 6th in the NCA in wins.

Diamond City, Goodneighbor, Nordhagen Beach, and Quincy make up the rest of the Top 5, with all teams remaining in the Top 5, but three of them jostled around. The Swatters were 3-2, while both Goodneighbor and the Boys were 2-3. Quincy was 4-1, but they are not quite close enough to jump any team in the Top 4.

Despite their down week, the Boys now have a Magic # of 7 thanks to their 2-1 series victory of the Salem Witch Hats (#11-T), which puts both the Hats and The Slog (#8) tied for 2nd place in the Brotherhood League, making an interesting race for the playoffs, but still virtually guaranteeing Nordhagen Beach the League pennant.
