Monday Morning Report

Player of the Week - Jose Castillo, LF, Louisville (24-S .324/.387/.507) Had 12 hits with 4 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 3 BB, 2 SO, 7 R and 11 RBI in 7 G (5 GS) (2nd PoW of season and career)

Editor's Note:
As is the custom, OOTP would not pick a PoW for the final week of the season, so I did it myself.

September 25 - Juan Ledesma (34-R) of Indianapolis pitched a 3 hit shutout at Syracuse. He walked 1 and struck out no one. It is his 1st shutout of the season and 17th of his career. He is now 7-11 with a 3.90 ERA in 28 starts. The Arrows won, 6 to 0.
September 25 - Rookie Jose Porchas (23-R) of Ottawa pitched a 3 hit shutout at Buffalo. He walked 2, hit a batter and struck out 7. It is his 3rd shutout of the season and of his career. He is now 11-16 with a 3.22 ERA in 34 starts. The Otters won, 2 to 0.
September 26 - 3B Floyd Shawn (29-R) of Columbus went 5 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI at Providence. The Explorers won, 8 to 4.
September 27 - CF Mike Fox (27-L) of Louisville hit 2 home runs and had 5 RBI at Richmond. The Colonels won, 10 to 5.
September 27 - LF Jorge Moreida (27-L) of Columbus went 5 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs and scored 4 runs at Providence. The Explorers won, 9 to 7.
September 27 - Jim Riggs (36-R) of Birmingham allowed 12 hits, but still managed pitch a shutout at home versus Memphis. He did not walk a batter and struck out 5. It is his 1st shutout of the season and 14th of his career. He is now 9-12 with a 3.62 ERA in 28 starts. The Barons won, 3 to 0.
September 29 - Buffalo outhit Indianapolis, 9 to 3, at home, but lost, 4 to 1. All 3 of the hits were singles. The Bombers did not make and error, but issued 7 walks. But the Arrows made an error an issued 4 walks. It is the 10th win in a row for Indianapolis, who had the worst record in the MLB before the streak started.
September 29 - LF Jose Castillo (24-S) of Louisville hit 3 doubles and drew a walk, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI at Birmingham. The Colonels won, 11 to 6.
October 1 - Rookie Mike Rossini (23-R) of Charlotte pitched a 4 hit shutout at Orlando. He did not walk a batter and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit and a walk. It is his 3rd shutout of the season and his career. He is now 15-10 with a 3.19 ERA in 33 starts. The Hornets won, 1 to 0, and only had 4 hits themselves.
October 1 - LF Jose Castillo (24-S) of Louisville had 3 hits with 2 home runs and a walk, scored 4 runs and had 4 RBI at Birmingham. 1B Ron Lerche had 4 hits with a double, scored 2 runs and had 4 RBI. The Colonels won, 17 to 5.
October 1 - Jack Brown (30-R) of New Orleans pitched a 3 hit shutout at Memphis. He walked 3 and struck out 8. At bat, he had 2 hits and scored a run. It is his 2nd shutout of the season and 12th of his career. He is now 11-11 with a 2.96 ERA in 30 starts. The Pelicans won, 11 to 0, and had 18 hits.
