Started my first league using this procedure over the weekend.

Started this league in 1947. Here is the setup so far.

American League
Baltimore
Boston
Chicago
Cleveland
Detroit
New York

National League
Brooklyn
Chicago
Cincinnati
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
St. Louis

Using a 156 game schedule that includes interleague play. Not the biggest fan of interleague play, but using it will allow me to expand by 2's(1 team per Subleague) which I find so much easier than expanding by 4 or dealing with finding schedules for subleagues that don't have the same number of teams.

Two levels of minors AAA and AA. Wondering if I should have added A too, but that's water under the bridge now. The minor league teams play identical schedules to the major leagues. I don't believe in September callups, so this isn't a problem.

Before starting play, I released all players and held a fantasy draft. Have you ever noticed how Ted Williams almost always ends up in New York when you do this? I'm using free agency for this league as well.

5 year recalc with Garlon's make bad settings 167/67 17/14.

If I can keep this going, I plan on expanding on a regular basis, but I will always keep my league smaller than that of the real MLB at the time. Kind of want to see what guys on the fringe have shorter MLB careers or never get out of the minors altogether.
