Injuries are.... painful

I would love to hear about some of the least timely injuries others have sustained in their ootp universes.

Here is mine. Playing as the 1976 Mets our season was cruising along. We were running away from the division. Dave Kingman was having An MVP type season but with about three weeks left he gets beaned and has a concussion. Then the losing starts. Nine in a row as we have no one to fill that void in our lineup. The Phillies are surging and as we enter the last 4 games of the season (against the Phillies) we are one game up on then for the division. In the opening game of the series our ace 19-9 Tom Terrific Seaver is going for us. He’s cruising along until ... he’s not. His arm hurts and has to be removed. We lose that game and the next game and now one back. Tom has a torn flexor tendon and now
Is our for 10 months. Of course I just signed him to a contract extension a month before! We did win our next game and now the season comes down to game 162. Damn you ootp!!!
