A riveting week of games, especially in the context of the official rankings, with four teams all with a chance of taking the #1 spot. In the end it was Harvard who came out on top, reaching the pinnacle for the first time despite having been in the Top Ten for all but two weeks of the season to date and never lower than 13th. Oregon State have also reached their high-point for the year at #2, with Pepperdine, Navy and Illinois rounding out the five top spots. Less than a ratings point separates them, so expect plenty of juggling between now and season’s end. They have put a decent gap between them and the others, although not so large as to rule them out entirely. Iowa (up 15 to #45) and Kansas (up 14 to #54) made the strongest upward moves this week, while Stetson jumped back into the official list with a solid week. Princeton were the worst-performed side, falling 16 spots to #69. And Huskers fans can “celebrate” their team finally shaking off the cellar-dweller tag as they “jump” to #99 at the expense of Minnesota.
