Jeff, the rs_one / rs_two folder trick worked and I was able to successfully back my game up to the date saved I wanted. Wahoo!
The back arrow doesn't work (usually does) but I think I had played around with trade offers and it likely would have needed about 50 backs to get there.
Managed to find the "Protection List" function on the manager home by looking under tasks which was clickable and took me to want I wanted.
