I think a common strategy is to draft on potential in the early rounds. The guys that could develop into superstars. There are occasions when you get a super spec that is ready for the show day 1. The guys where the actuals and potentials are already fulfilled. Those are no-brainer picks. Once all the high potential guyus are gone you need to develop a system. Some players will target one rating that could be major league ready where the other have no potential to be good and hope for a talent bump in the minors. (Ex: Guy has big power but nothing else) Other start going by straight actuals over potential because these can maybe develop into serviceable backups. I'm sure other users will chime in with more detailed strategies as I'm not a ratings player but this will at least get you going.
