End of June 1935

The stress of a tough season can weigh on people differently. As the Dynamo's suffered through a 4-23 June (which is likely one of the worst marks in FABL history), that surfaced on Saturday night after a league worst 9th shutout in a losing 11-0 effort against the Chicago Chiefs. Manager Tom Bray was answering questions in the locker room with a group of reporters when a particular question set him off. Bray began shouting at the reporter (One Conrad Thompson of Flint Times) and abruptly threw a chair putting a huge dent into the locker room wall and stormed off.

Yes the team is 22-50 so far and not a lot is going right. The pitching is horrible and with that we say goodbye to P Wally Larkin who had a 12.10 ERA in 9 brutal innings. We also released Bob Faust (26) from class C. More bad news was out top prospect P Earle Robinson (19) left his last start with an issue with his back. Turns out he has a herniated disc (not good for any athlete) and will miss the rest of the season. He was 5-2 with a 2.62 ERA at our Class B Chattanooga team and he was looking to get promoted to Class A Terre Haute next month.

The 2 kids we picked up in the Chicago Chief deal for SS Bob Barringer, were promoted from Class C to Class B. Those 2 kids SP Art Brandon and SP Harvey Gaines.

Finally we are bringing CF Jose Serna (22) who was one of the five players we picked up from Brooklyn. He was hitting 311 at the class AAA clubs this year. So he will get inserted into the starting lineup at the top of the order to see if he can light a fire to what is now the FA's worst offense.

As we head towards the All-Star game I am not sure exactly who will be the Dynamo's representative. The best player is likely is probably OF Henry Jones.

To replace P Wally Larkin, we decided to bring up 39 year old Andy Holton who was 5-3 with a 2.80 ERA at AAA Newark. Holton who is not a long term answer and is likely to hang up his cleats in the very near future, we don't want to rush up any younger players who are likely not ready (or ever will be ready).

Below are the team stats (pitching, batting and other info.)

Next - We are so looking forward to the off-season and the draft to bring some talent into this organization.
