Walkers news: May 9 -- St. Louis 10, Madison 5

Record: 19-12, 1st, 1.5 GA Kansas City
St. Louis scored at least one run in each of the first four innings to build a 7-1 lead, and the River Walkers went on to defeat Madison 10-5 at Busch Stadium (1997).
The victory gave St. Louis' victories in the final two games of their three-game series with the Muskies.
For the second straight game, Jean Carmona drove in a run in the first inning, a day after he hit a three-run homer in the opening frame, this time he had an RBI single off Madison starter Keith Talley to put his team up 1-0.
After the Muskies tied it on a Jordan Groshans lead-off homer off Angel Tiburcio in the top of the second, Tiburcio himself untied it in the bottom half with a two-run blast off Talley.
The Walkers tallied three times in the third.
Thairo Estrada with a two-run single, and the third run scoring when Muskies left fielder Steve Mann botched a fly ball hit by Tiburcio.
Caromona connected on a two-out double in the fourth off reliever Mario Martinez, driving in Jose Segura who had drawn a two-out walk, to make it 7-1.
The Muskies would make it interesting drawing to within 8-5.
Chris Duncan hit a two-run homer and Aramis Ademan a solo homer off Tiburicio in the fifth to make it 7-4.
Jose Ramirez made it 8-4 with a solo homer off Martinez in the sixth.
But Duncan went deep for the second time in the game, again off Tiburcio, with one out in the seventh to make it 8-5.
That ended Tiburcio's outing.
Daniel Becerra, however, put a stamp on the win with a two-run homer off Casey Owens in the eighth.
Tiburcio (4-1) lasted 6.1 innings on the mond, allowing five runs on eight hits. He struck out seven and walked none.
Nick Ruffalo got the second out of the seventh before exiting after he got into trouble after allowing a pair of base runners.
Cory Tiller finished the seventh, without allowing a run to score, and then pitched a silent eighth.
Josh Grissom was flawless in the ninth.
